On Saturday, Feb. 26th nearly 150 bowlers competed at Paramount Lanes on the Miracle Mile in Elmira Heights. Athletes from ARC organizations in Steuben and Schuyler counties participated maxing out the facility with participants from 37 divisions…a popular competition.
According to Larry Johnson, event coordinator, results of the competition were as followed:
Males with top scores were:
Steve Pospiech Steuben (416 - 2 Games)
Mike Brown Schuyler (374)
Don Reynolds Chemung (419)
Females with top scores were:
Sandy Toomey Steuben (420)
Margaret Robbins Schuyler (443)
Nancy Cole Chemung (420)
Brown and Cole won a special one game roll off competition among the high qualifiers from each training club. John Youngs (Steuben) had the high male scratch series (318). Joan Oswald had the high female scratch series (255)
Agency staff and coaches from the three training clubs were part of the competition…40 in all 5. Johnson remarked that, “Paramount Lanes was once again a perfect venue for our event. We would like to thank Don Reidy and his staff for their assistance in putting on this competition.”
