INVITE ATTACHED!
Coaches,
Due to lack of demand we have decided to make change to this year’s volunteer dinner.
We would like to invite you to attend our Volunteer Barbecue and Picnic that will follow our Regional Softball Event on August 23rd at Cobbs Hill. Meal Tickets are free for all Volunteers and Athletes and we would love to have you in attendance. The picnic will begin at approximately 1:30pm as the Softball event concludes and will run until approximately 4pm. We will be acknowledging many of our key volunteers at this picnic and we would love for you to join us.
Please note that all Coaches and Athletes that are participating in the Regional Softball event will be included in the count automatically unless otherwise stated.
Please fill out the form attached and fax or e-mail it to the office no later than August 8th. We have to confirm the food order with our caterer on the 8th and we need to have an idea of how many people will be attending. We will not have sufficient food for people that register after this date.
Fall Season Sports Conference
ONLINE REGISTRATION AVAILABLE NOW: http://nyso.org/Genesee/resourcesFALL.php
Our fall sports conference will be taking place at RIT on Saturday, August 9th (9am-2:30pm). We will be offering coaches a unique opportunity to participate in two of four fall sports (Golf, Bocce, Soccer, Softball). Attending the conference is a fantastic way to update certification and to gain knowledge of the forthcoming sports season. Those coaches that are looking to go to state games should try and attend the conference as there will be information divulged pertaining to that event. Thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing you there.

You will notice that the form has changed a little. You also need to list all of the potential coaches and/or 1on 1 support that may be going to State Games. Please don’t leave anyone off!! We will run a report on each of the coaches and let you know what their current status is as soon as we receive your Demand Case Survey. By doing this we will be able to ensure that everyone is up-to-date before State games. Where there are issues we will organize trainings accordingly.
We are trying to keep the registration deadline back as far as possible so as to give you as much time as we can. Here are the key dates:
Demand Case Surveys Due: Tuesday August 5th
Quotas and Registrations sent to Coaches: Friday, August 15th
Registrations Due to Office: Friday, September 5th

Fall Season Updates
Fall Registrations attached!!!
Coaches,
A quick note on progressing to state games:
Our calendar has been designed to give athletes more opportunity to compete. In August you will see that there are a number of local and regional competitions. Teams and Athletes must attend the events that are offered if they wish to go to state games. For example, Softball Teams should attend the Regional Softball event at Cobbs Hill and the Upstate Fall Classic. Similarly, athletes wishing to participate in golf must attend one of the three golf events held between August 24th- 28th and the Regional Golf Event on September 27th. Please note that we will check to ensure that athletes going to states have completed these prerequisites:
Important dates to remember:
Softball – Regional (Aug 23rd) Super Regional (September 20th)
Soccer – Super Regional (September 20th)
Bocce – Super Regional (September 13th)
Golf – Local (Aug 24th-Aug 28th) Regional (September 27th)
Equestrian – Regional (September 6th)
Coaches Certification
Firstly, a big thank you to all of the coaches that have contacted us this week to check on their coaching status. There will be more information regarding this topic available in next week’s report after our forthcoming Program meeting. In the meantime, head coaches should begin to put together a list of every coach/ volunteer that currently operates within their club. When this is complete it should be e-mailed to the office so that we can accurately assess where we are at and ensure that we are up-to-date with our information.
Finally both the Program Report and our event calendar are now available online.

Please note that only Protective Behaviors completed online is accepted as the past version is no longer valid.
If you are in doubt about your current status you should call the Program Department (585)586-7400 ext 107 as soon as possible and we will give your status and what needs to be completed in order to move forward. Thank you for your continued commitment to our amazing athletes and for your time in ensuring that this important step is taken.
It’s Roster Time Again!!
The fall season is almost upon us and coaches are required to submit Rosters to the Genesee Office by August 22nd. Attached is the “NEW” form that you need to fill out for your athletes in your training club. This form is a little different in that we are now asking for sport training information for the whole season, even if your athletes DO NOT compete at events in specific sports. Part of our accreditation with SOI involves sport training in addition to events competed in. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
